Tawast

TAWAST is an ethical fashion brand founded by Milla Tawast. Our core values are that we shouldn’t exploit humans, animals or our planet for the sake of fashion. We use sustainable fabrics and ethical production that happens in our studio in Finland.

TAWAST offers seasonless slow fashion. The collections aim to be as timeless as possible so that they can go from season to season. That’s why we don’t tie the collection to a specific season, but to be worn all year round. Comfort and practicability are a big design factor for us. We want to create clothes that you can actually move in and go about your daily life, everyday luxury.

Slow fashion is the opposite to fast fashion that has 52 seasons a year with new stuff coming out all the time and clothes being treated as disposable. We want to offer alternatives to this and educate the consumer about the huge negative effect the fashion industry has on our planet, the people making the clothes and animals being used as material.

As we now have only one person making the clothes, Milla herself, that means we have limited amount of production so the model is very slow fashion. All the garments are made to order because we don’t want to produce more things to the world than there is use for.

TAWAST donates 5% of each sale to animal sanctuaries. We have personally visited these places and witnessed the amazing work they do to help animals in need.
