Launched in 2014 by Rosie and based in the lush tropics of Bali, Luna & Rose is a sustainable jewellery and apparel brand built on openness, proud to share every element of their supply chain. A significant part of their sustainable mindset is creating pieces that last forever.
Every single piece is lovingly handmade in small batches by family-run workshops, whether that’s their experts Putu & Made responsible for turning their 2D jewelry design sketches into 3D 'real life' designs working from theirs home studios to Hadi who is like a Bali dad to the founder Rosie. Hadi is one of the first Indonesians she connected with when first arriving in 2014. They spend many hours chatting about fashion, tailoring.
THAT RECYCLED STERLING SILVER YOU’VE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT
Their jewellery is lovingly crafted from certified recycled sterling silver, processed in Thailand from scrap metal, old computer parts and forgotten jewellery. They also recycle any old stock, faulty pieces, broken chains or missing earrings into new designs, which means there is literally zero waste.
Organic Fabrics Dyed with Plants
Many moons ago the founder Rosie heard the first time about the possibility of dying apparel with nothing more than plants. It’s an age-old process. Three types of leaves are picked, dried in huge scale roasters before being crushed into tiny granules and mixed with water. These primary hues are then mixed together to form unique shades - entirely toxic free.
Oh, an one last thing; their clothing collection is made from organic cotton and linen. The production of flax (linen) and organic cotton requires considerably less water and chemicals than traditional cotton.
