Jeans and denim jackets are definitely a must-have and seasonless wardrobe staple that can be worn with pretty much everything and anything, whether you’re in the mood for dressing up or down. However, jeans are one of the most polluting fashion items you probably own. It consumes huge amounts of water, energy, chemicals and extensive areas of cultivation.

At NOWA, denim is sustainably recycled and transformed into comfortable jeans & jackets! Made of recycled cotton and eco-friendly certified cotton, the jeans and jackets are carefully designed and ethically produced in Portugal. It takes 97% less water used to create NOWA jeans, whereas producing a new pair would use 7000 litres – this is more than the amount of water one person drinks over 13 years.

Eco-Friendly & Ethically Crafted in Portugal

This recycled denim collection is made of GRS-certified recycled cotton, making sure that your jeans do not contain harmful and toxic substances that otherwise would enter your pores while wearing. Thus, these jeans don't irritate your skin at all. The factory producing this line is also certified by the Better Cotton Initiative, which attests to its commitment to making the cotton supply chain a more stable and secure environment to operate in.

Since Portugal is known for its traditional textile industry that values quality, craftsmanship & fair working conditions, the founders didn’t look too far for conscious manufactures. The production takes place in a small socially responsible factory in Portugal that is certified by the Brazilian Association of Textile Industries, with a gold standard in its social responsibility practices.
