The bigger the better. Yes, these chunky knits are one of the hottest products seen on Instagram! During the coldest months of the year, a hefty sweater or cardigan is the ultimate in comfort, warmth, and, of course, style.

Mumshandmade is a small family business born in Thessaloniki, Greece during the winter of 2013. The idea of starting Mumshandmade came out of the blue when the founders and wonderful couple Andreas and Christina watched their mothers knitting beanies and cardigans for personal use - hence the name.

Ethically Handknitted in Greece

The founders of Mumshandmade believe in the principles of fair trade, hence all knits are 100% locally and handcrafted by professional Greek mums and artisans who absolutely love to knit. Hand-knitting is a slower process than machine knitting, so the knitters usually need a few days to complete one knitted piece.

How best to care for your wool knit:

A careful hand washing is the preferred way of cleaning your knit, extending considerably its life.

Wash gently in tepid water with a mild soap. Rinse thoroughly in water without wringing or twisting.

These garments must be air-dried. Lie it flat on a dry towel and roll it up, pressing to remove the excess water.

Then, lie it flat on a drying rack or a fresh dry towel, but avoid exposing it to direct sunlight.

After dry, carefully fold your garment to avoid creases, and store it in a drawer or on a shelf. Do not hang your garment, as it will stretch out of shape.
